Pasta is a great
stomach filler and good in the middle of the day when you need
extra and healthy carbs to get you through the lean day.
The tastiest pasta is
home-made (it's also the healthiest). When cooking pasta
meals, you can decrease the amount of oil you put into the meal,
meat and overall make it a little leaner without changing the
recipe too much.
When purchasing
cheese for a lean pasta meal, double check the nutrition tables
most products have on the back of their packages for lower fat.
The "40% less fat" cheese and the light colored packaging can give
the impression that it's good for you but, if you compare
different brands, you will most likely find another brand has down
to 1/4 the fat of the original packet you picked up!
Don't look at the
"per serve" option though - many companies alter their portions so
they're smaller portions and appear to have less fat, sodium and
sugar - but in fact can have much more than other brands. Enjoy
